Cary Boyce was commissioned by Nancy Menk and the South Bend Chamber Singers for a new Christmas piece, Veni Veni Emmanuel, to premiere on December 16 for their 2008 season. They performed Es ist ein Ros' in 2006.

Cary Boyce was a finalist for the Essentially Choral composition program, co-sponsored by The American Composers Forum and VocalEssence, May 2007.

Cary Boyce received a “Special Distinction” award from the ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers) Foundation’s 2006 national Nissim Prize for his oratorio for soprano, chorus, and orchestra, Dreams within a Dream.
